We are excited to be the new title sponsor for the GRO Parade of Homes this year! GRO has been involved with the parade for the past 15+ years so it only made sense for us to step up our involvement and become the new title sponsor. The parade is located in Ridgefield, WA this year and GRO has a rich history in this town.

The History of GRO

The family of Garret Hergert, GRO Owner and CEO, homesteaded their farm in Ridgefield in 1912. This farm is now the location of the GRO Nursery where we grow and sell ornamental, conifer, shade and specimen trees, as well as shrubs, ground cover and perennials to contractors and homeowners alike. Originally, Garret’s great grandparents raised chickens on the farm and grew prunes, hazel nuts and walnuts. Over the years, his family planted and grew different crops including thornless blackberries, raspberries, and apples. They raised over 600,000 commercial chickens for foster farms until Garret’s dad’s retirement in 2020. You can say farming and gardening is in Garret’s blood.

Garret’s dad owned a custom home building and framing business and helped him build his first greenhouse when he was 10 years old. From the time he could walk, Garret was planting gardens, producing hanging baskets, and selling items at the local farmers markets. As a teenager, he got his business license and started landscaping local outdoor spaces as well as working with his dad on his custom home business. From there, Garret continued to grow his landscaping business into what GRO is today.

GRO Today

Garret’s experience and family history serves as the foundation for the services, products and expertise that GRO provides it clients. We are a unique company that offers a wide variety of services ranging from landscaping, maintenance, outdoor living, design and general construction. We also provide professional landscape supplies and nursery stock from our GRO Nursery location in Ridgefield, WA and our GRO Landscape Supply and Material Yard and Store located in Vancouver, WA.

Our mission statement is “create amazing living spaces to build better lives for our clients, team members and community.” We provide our clients with an extra level of quality with every service and product we deliver. We work on any size projects, from a fire pit and patio in a backyard, to a large outdoor living area with a pool, pool house and outdoor kitchen; we can bring any vision to life.

GRO at the Parade

At the GRO Parade of Homes this year, we will be both landscaping homes involved with the parade as well as providing landscaping material and supply for the homes.
